The Municipality of Lambton Shores is planning to set up a marketing entity. They are looking to impose a tourism tax for hotels and Short Term Rentals. It is estimated that this tax could generate upwards of $400,000. Monies would be used to promote tourism in Lambton Shores. The deadline to respond to the survey is May 16th.

When asking who should be included on this new entity’s Board, we strongly encourage designates from the Centre Ipperwash Community Association (CICA), the West Ipperwash Property Owners Association (WIPOA) and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) be included.

We are encouraging you to indicate that until our current infrastructure at Ipperwash is improved, tourism should not be promoted. Currently traffic, parking, restrooms and garbage collection need to be addressed.
